Approach and anchoring
Enter the Vermilion River between the breakwaters, marked by the 1992 replica lighthouse on the east pier, then head 1 km up the river to the marina on the east bank.
Practical
Address 1120 Vermilion Road. 220 berths with water and shore power. Heads and showers. Sandy swimming beach, playground, picnic shelters and walking trails on the park grounds. Phone 440 967 4525.
History
Built in 1910 as a private yacht club by local businessmen. The site was requisitioned by the US Navy during World War II as a sailor training facility. The City of Vermilion bought the property in 1983 and turned it into a public marina and park.
