Approach and anchoring

Reached from the ICW, which marks the start of the South Carolina segment at Little River Inlet around mile 340.9. The river runs deep at this point, but watch the current, which sets hard with the tide. Sand bottom with fair holding.

Practical

No facilities at anchor. Cricket Cove Marina lies 3.4 miles to the west with diesel, water and transient berths, and Myrtle Beach Yacht Club is 4.2 miles west.

Ashore

The fishing village of Little River sits on the South Carolina bank, with restaurants and seafood markets along the waterfront. Calabash, just across the state line in North Carolina, is known for its fried seafood houses.
