Approach and anchoring
Set on the James River with direct reach to Hampton Roads harbour and the Chesapeake Bay. Floating docks with full-length finger piers take vessels up to 43 feet. Three concrete seawalls shelter the basin from heavy weather.
Practical
200 wet berths with shore power and seasonal water. Fuel berth supplies diesel and unleaded petrol, with a sewage pump-out alongside. Restrooms with showers, a fish-cleaning station and a picnic area with a grill. Run by Newport News Parks and Recreation, phone 757 247-2359.
