Private club marina in Larchmont Harbour on Long Island Sound, about 18 miles north-east of New York City, with seasonal moorings and a sheltered harbour basin.
Guide
Approach and anchoring
Approach from the Sound into Larchmont Harbour. Heavier moorings lie in the outer harbour for larger vessels, with lighter ground tackle further in. Visiting yachts are taken on moorings rather than alongside, and a launch service runs in season.
Practical
Guest moorings are open to members of recognised yacht clubs at 45 USD per night. There is no fuel berth at the club. Larchmont village shops and the Metro-North railway station are a short walk from the waterfront.
History
The club was founded in June 1880 by five young New York residents who summered in Larchmont. It has run Larchmont Race Week each summer since 1885, an event modelled on Cowes Week and still a major regatta on Long Island Sound.
