- Harbour
Small tidal harbour on the Côte de Granit Rose at Pleumeur-Bodou, Côtes-d'Armor, facing the Île Grande channel.
Guide
Approach and anchoring
Approach from the north through the rock-strewn channel between Île Grande and the mainland. The area is scattered with pink granite reefs and drying rocks, so navigation is best at half tide rising with good visibility. Local buoyage marks the passage. Port Saint-Sauveur lies 1.8 nm SW and Port de Ploumanac'h 2.6 nm NE as fallback refuges.
Practical
Very limited capacity with one visitor berth. The harbour dries at low water, suitable for bilge-keelers or boats that take the ground. No fuel at the pontoon. Basic shops in Pleumeur-Bodou village, larger supermarket in Trégastel 4 km east.
Ashore
Coastal footpath GR34 runs past the harbour towards Île Grande tidal causeway 1 km west and on to Trégastel beaches 3 km east. Cité des Télécoms and Radôme at Pleumeur-Bodou 3 km inland, home of the 1962 first transatlantic TV transmission via Telstar.
