Small mooring site on the Authie estuary between Berck and Fort-Mahon-Plage, Hauts-de-France.
Guide
Approach and anchoring
Access via the Authie estuary, drying channel shifting with each tide. Entrance only usable within approximately 2 hours either side of high water. No fixed buoyage, local knowledge recommended.
Practical
Basic pontoon or mooring, no marina services on site. Base Nautique de Berck 2,9 NM to the NW, Base Nautique de Fort-Mahon-Plage 3,3 NM to the SW for additional facilities.
Ashore
The Authie bay is a classified Natura 2000 site with a resident colony of harbour seals and grey seals observable from the dunes. Dune reserve of the Baie d'Authie, part of the Parc naturel marin des estuaires picards et de la mer d'Opale created in 2012.
