Approach and anchoring

Entered from the inner harbour off the main shipping channel, between Rowes Wharf to the south and Boston Waterboat Marina to the north. The marina takes seasonal and transient vessels up to 75 feet.

Practical

Around 100 berths, with fuel and a pump-out station. The harbour master's office handles daily and seasonal dockage. Shops, restaurants and the MBTA Aquarium station are within a short walk.

Ashore

The New England Aquarium stands next to the marina. Faneuil Hall Marketplace and Quincy Market lie about 600 metres north for provisioning and dining. The Rose Kennedy Greenway runs along the waterfront from the wharf.

History

Boston merchants formed the India Wharf Company in 1805 to build a wharf for large ships trading with India and China. The wharf was converted to a marina that opened in 1986.
