Town-run marina on Betsie Lake at Frankfort, Michigan, just inside the harbour entrance from Lake Michigan.
Guide
Approach and anchoring
Enter from Lake Michigan between the concrete breakwaters that form the arrowhead harbour. The Frankfort North Breakwater Lighthouse, a 67-foot steel tower dating from 1912 and moved to the breakwater in 1932, marks the channel into Betsie Lake. The marina monitors VHF.
Practical
Seasonal and transient berths with shore power, fresh water, ice, key-coded restrooms and showers, and holding-tank pumpout. Petrol and diesel are available at the fuel berth. Dock attendants and a harbourmaster are on duty. The marina runs from early May to mid-October.
Ashore
Downtown Frankfort is a short walk from the berths, with shops, restaurants and provisions. The north breakwater walkway leads out to the 1912 lighthouse, a noted sunset spot on this stretch of the Lake Michigan shore.
