- Harbour
Full-service marina and boatyard on a sheltered basin off the Delaware River at Delran, New Jersey.
Guide
Approach and anchoring
The marina lies in a former dredged sandpit off the New Jersey bank of the Delaware, well protected from the river chop. G Winter's Sailing Center is 0.3 mile to the north-east, Delaware River Yacht Club 1.1 miles to the north.
Practical
There are 180 in-water berths and a 160-boat dry-stack store across a 110-acre site. The fuel berth opens daily from 15 April to 15 October, 0900 to 1800, with petrol and off-road diesel. A 25-ton travel lift, chandlery, pump-out, showers, swimming pool and the Dredge Harbor Cafe are on site.
History
In 1939 Bill Parsons Sr and his brother Herb traded their stake in two cars for a down payment on a riverside sandpit then being dredged. The site grew into one of the largest marine facilities in the Delaware Valley.
