Approach and anchoring
Kitty Hawk Bay is a shallow brackish basin off Albemarle Sound, with low-lying marsh islands at its centre. A canal of about 1.5 metres depth links the dock to the open bay. Suited to shallow-draught vessels only.
Practical
Fuel, bait and tackle, ice, beer and wine, snacks and a public boat launch close by. Picnic tables on the waterfront. Open 7am to 4pm Monday to Friday, closed Saturday. Reachable on 252 255-5578.
