Guide
Approach and anchoring
From Biscayne Bay, follow the marked entrance channel between the eastern breakwaters into the marina basin. Maximum draught 2.74 metres. Concrete docks with wooden finger pontoons. Hail the dockmaster on VHF 68.
Practical
Berths for vessels from 30 to 135 feet, 30 and 50 amp shore power, pumpout, laundry, heads and showers. Staff and security on site 24 hours. Reservations through Dockwa.
Ashore
Coconut Grove village within walking distance, with restaurants on Commodore Plaza and the CocoWalk shopping centre at around 600 metres. Miami City Hall sits at the marina entrance in the former Pan American Seaplane Terminal. Vizcaya Museum and Gardens at 3 km north along the bay.
History
The site was a US Navy air station from 1918 and the Pan American Airways Clipper seaplane base from 1932 to 1945. The current marina was built in the late 1980s and has been rebuilt after Hurricane Andrew in 1992, Hurricane Wilma in 2005 and Hurricane Irma in 2017, which destroyed roughly 60 percent of the docks.
