Approach and anchoring
Approach from Greenwich Bay through a dredged channel carrying about 4ft, marked by green cans from Salty Rock past Cedar Point. Keep a close watch on the depth sounder. NOAA chart 13221 covers the cove.
Practical
Around 348 floating concrete and timber berths from 20 to 40ft, plus 30 moorings. Fresh water and shore power on the docks, heads with showers, pump-out, a 35-ton travel lift and a 25-ton mobile crane. Engine repair and yacht maintenance on site.
History
The marina was started by Avis Dickerson and her husband in 1959 and is still family owned and run. Apponaug takes its name from a Wampanoag word for a place of many shells.
