Ashore
The marina sits at the foot of East Park in the town centre, with restaurants and shops within a short walk. Public beach on Lake Michigan about 600 metres north. Bicycle hire at the marina for reaching the Mushroom Houses, the Earl Young stone cottages built between 1918 and 1950.
History
The Pine River Channel was cut in 1870 to link Lake Michigan to Lake Charlevoix through Round Lake. By 1897 the Charlevoix Sentinel reported more shipping tonnage passing here than at any other port on the eastern shore of Lake Michigan.
