Approach and anchoring
Inland freshwater lake of around 160 hectares created by gravel extraction on the Rhône alluvial plain. No tidal or current issues. Access by road only, not connected to the Rhône for through navigation.
Practical
60 berths reserved for club members and visiting dinghy sailors. Small-keelboat and dinghy sailing. No commercial fuel berth. Club house with basic facilities.
Ashore
Parc du Grand Large walking and cycling paths along the lake. Centre-ville of Meyzieu 2 km north with full shops. Lyon city centre reachable by tram T3 line in 25 minutes.
History
The Grand Large lake was created in the 1970s during construction of the Jonage hydroelectric canal on the Rhône.
