Approach and anchoring
Approach through the protected channels of the Les Cheneaux archipelago. Basin depths range from 0.6 to 1.4 metres, so deep-draught yachts should check ahead. Mackinac Island lies about 13.8 NM to the south-west.

Ashore
Les Cheneaux Maritime Museum and the Les Cheneaux Historical Museum are within the village. Hessel hosts the annual Antique Wooden Boat Show in August, 2.8 NM to the west.
