The anchorage lies in a no-wake stretch of the ICW. Holding is in mud, with shelter from NE round to NW but exposure from SW to SE. Tidal current runs through the sound, so allow scope for the swing.

Fresh water is available. Otter Creek Landing Yacht Club is 0.3 nm to the north-west and Harbour Point Yacht Club 0.4 nm to the north, both private clubs at Carolina Beach with marina berths.
