Approach and anchoring
Approach from the Bouches de Bonifacio, entering the Gulf of Sant'Amanza from the east. Mixed bottom of sand and rock; pick sand patches to drop the anchor and check the set by snorkelling. Shelter from NW, N, NE, W and E; exposed to S and SE winds, including the libeccio running through the strait.
Practical
No services on site. Nearest water, fuel and berths at Sant'Amanza mooring field 3.3 NM SW, and at the port of Bonifacio 5.8 NM SW.
Ashore
South coast of the gulf is part of the Bouches de Bonifacio nature reserve, the largest marine reserve in metropolitan France. Coastal path links Cala di Volpi to the Punta di Sprono headland.
