Approach and anchoring

Approach from seaward along the south shore of the gulf. Sand and posidonia bottom, scout for a clear sand patch to drop on. Posidonia anchoring is regulated under the Préfecture maritime de la Méditerranée rules. Open to the east and the south-east sector, shelter in westerlies from the Cap Corse land mass.

Practical

No services at the anchorage. Saint-Florent harbour lies 2.8 NM south-west for berths, fuel, water and provisioning. Mare e Stagnu private marina at 3 NM south-west.

Ashore

The Désert des Agriates starts on the west side of the gulf, with the beaches of Saleccia and Lotu accessible by sea or by 4x4 track from Casta. Saint-Florent old town has a Genoese citadel built in 1439 and the Romanesque cathedral of Santa Maria Assunta di Nebbio from the 12th century, 2.8 NM away by sea.
