Guide
Approach and anchoring
Enter the Port of Los Angeles through Angels Gate, then follow the Main Channel north and turn into the West Channel. Cabrillo Way Marina lies on the west side opposite the cruise terminals.
Practical
Berths from 28 to 130 ft, fuel berth with petrol and diesel open daily 06:00 to 18:00, public pump-out on the long dock by the fire station, showers and toilets, laundry, Wi-Fi, lockers, shore power and water at every berth.
Ashore
Cabrillo Beach and the Cabrillo Marine Aquarium at 1 km. Korean Friendship Bell and Angels Gate Park on the bluffs to the south. Downtown San Pedro waterfront at 2 km, with restaurants and the USS Iowa museum ship.
History
San Pedro was the home port of the US tuna clipper fleet, which peaked in 1930 with 40% of California's catch. In 1942 the Navy requisitioned 60% of the clippers for South Pacific supply duty.
