Guide
Approach and anchoring
Approach from Monterey Bay, rounding the Coast Guard breakwater. Berths sit in deeper water than the city marina next door and are usable for visiting yachts up to 140 ft. Sea lions haul out on the breakwater itself, audible day and night.
Practical
Around 80 berths with water, power and telephone, plus visitor berthing up to 140 ft. Fuel berth open 0800 to noon and 1300 to 1700 daily, with pump-out and oil change. Heads, hot showers and an on-site dive shop with rentals and classes.
Ashore
Cannery Row and the Monterey Bay Aquarium are a 5 min walk west, Fisherman's Wharf the same distance south. Breakwater Cove itself is the main shore dive site in Monterey, sheltered kelp forest entry straight off the beach next to the marina.
