Guide
Approach and anchoring
Reached up the Patapsco River from the Chesapeake Bay. Depths in the anchorage run to around 30 feet over mud. The basin is open to the south-east, so a fresh wind from that quarter brings chop, though wake protection is good. Watch for commercial traffic and water taxis working the harbour.
Practical
Fresh water is available. Fuel, pump-out and full marina services are at hand: Oasis Marinas lies 0.2 nm to the south-east and Marina Ventures International 0.2 nm to the north-east.
Ashore
The Inner Harbor waterfront sits within walking distance, with the National Aquarium and the Maryland Science Center on the basin. The historic Fells Point district, with its 18th-century streets, is a short way east along the shore.
