Approach and anchoring
Approach along the canal from the east via the 475 m Niderviller tunnel or from the west via the 2 306 m Arzviller tunnel and the Saint-Louis-Arzviller inclined plane. Maximum draught 1.80 m, standard Freycinet air draught 3.50 m. No VHF, canal traffic follows VNF rules.
Practical
Ten berths along the bank, water and electricity bollards, pump-out. Overnight mooring is paid. No fuel. Boulangerie and small grocery in Niderviller village 400 m from the towpath.
Ashore
The Niderviller faience works, founded 1735, can be visited in the village. The Plan Incliné de Saint-Louis-Arzviller, a 108 m inclined plane that replaced 17 locks in 1969, is 4 km west along the towpath and runs boat tours. The Vosges sandstone hills begin immediately south, with waymarked trails from the canal.
