Approach and anchoring

Two lighthouses make the entrance straightforward and there is a fuel berth by the harbour. Call the office on VHF 9 before arrival and lie at the visitor pontoon or the waiting jetty near the entrance until a berth is allocated. A hand is usually there to take lines. The marina is well protected from wind and sea.

Practical

Around 32 to 41 euros for a 10 to 14 metre boat, water and electricity included, with a reduction for a week's stay. A QR code opens the pontoon gates and the showers, and check-in can also be done through the marina app. Sanitary facilities are clean with hot water, and there is a washing machine and dryer. A fuel berth is on site, two chandlers and a fishing shop stand beside the marina, and a Carrefour City nearby covers the basics.

Ashore

The centre of Dunkirk is a 10 to 15 minute walk, with a market on Saturday mornings. The town is a base for the Second World War memorials and the story of the 1940 evacuation, and has an aquarium. A gendarmerie office by the marina handles check-in formalities.
