Approach and anchoring

Approach from the outer channel of Dunkerque, accessible at all tidal heights. Entrance to the marina basin is floating, no lock. Watch for commercial traffic in the main channel and keep clear of the ferry route to Dover. A traffic watch is kept on VHF 73 in the access channel, VHF 9 for the harbour master. Visitors lie alongside the visitor jetty, often rafted two or three abreast when full, and the basin can be choppy with swell from the commercial side.

Practical

250 berths with water and shore power on the pontoons. Fuel berth with diesel available 24 hours. Maximum draught 2 m. Berthing runs about 30 euros for 10 metres and 56 euros for 15 metres. Sanitary facilities are limited in number. Laundry ashore, token 5 euros from the office. Town buses are free, line C4 stops by the marina near a shopping centre with a Leclerc, about 20 minutes on foot. Yacht Club de la Mer du Nord sits 0.2 NM to the south.

Ashore

Beach of Malo-les-Bains along the seafront at 600 m, with the 1900s promenade, villas, a beach bar and restaurants. City centre and the Port Museum, housing the three-masted Duchesse Anne, at 2 km. For a meal, la patatiere in town and Pizzeria Grazie near the Maritime Museum. Dunes de Flandre coastal path east from the marina towards Leffrinckoucke.
