Approach and anchoring

The entrance is straightforward: follow the channel in towards the harbours and turn to port at the first opening, where the fuel berth stands. Berths are wide with big cleats, and reception helps pick one and takes the lines. It is known locally as the Airforce Yacht Marina and answers on VHF 72.

Practical

Reception keeps office hours and speaks French, English and Dutch; the sanitary facilities are clean, spacious and well equipped. Fees run around 32 euros for 11 metres and 42 euros for 13 metres. There is a farm shop and chandlery within walking distance, with bakeries, groceries and a DIY store a short cycle away. The boatyard cranes and stores boats professionally at fair prices.

Ashore

The harbour sits next to a nature reserve with good walking from the door. Nieuwpoort splits in two: Nieuwpoort Bad by the beach, busier and pricier, and the older quarter south of the harbour with simpler shops and restaurants. Dogs must be kept on a lead, including on the beach.
