Approach and anchoring

The approach dries around it, so at low water keep to the centre of the Nieuwpoort channel. The marina itself is well sheltered and quiet.

Practical

Berthing has run around 26 euros for a 12 metre yacht, though prices are steep for some, with one crew paying 79 euros for two nights on a 13 metre boat without electricity. Visitors can borrow two bikes free for a couple of hours a day, useful as the town is a walk off. The passport office for checking into Europe is right by the marina. On site are a boat shop, sailmaker, crane and repair services, and an EV charger by the pyramid building.

Ashore

The town lies about half an hour on foot, split into an old and a new quarter, and a De Lijn tram day ticket at 7.50 euros reaches as far as Bruges. Seals often haul out on the harbour boat ramps. The marina restaurant is known for its shrimp croquettes, the garnaalkroketten.
