Guide
Approach and anchoring
Sheltered from east round to south-west, open to the north and west. Sand and weed bottom. Anchoring is prohibited. Johnson's Reef, off the bay to the north, is marked by buoys and boats must stay outside them.
Practical
Pick up an NPS mooring. Two orange buoys joined by a float line form a dinghy tether for tenders of 16 feet or less, and boats stay out of the swim area off the beach.
Ashore
The underwater trail starts from the beach and covers 300 to 400 feet of marked water around Trunk Cay, with signs on the sea floor.
