Approach and anchoring

Enter the Golfe du Morbihan through the Port-Navalo pass, mind the strong tidal stream which reaches 8 knots on springs at the narrows. Head north of the Île aux Moines then take the western branch towards Larmor-Baden. The anse dries in part at low water springs, anchor outside the drying line on mud. Exposed to winds from W and SW.

Practical

Forain anchoring at the head of the anse, no services on the water. A pontoon here is reached by a shallow channel and takes only shallow-draught motor and sailing boats, so phone ahead on 06 04 59 68 28. Visitor moorings and a pontoon at Ponton du Blair 0.5 nm SW; Port Lagaden lies 1.3 nm E for a harbour alternative.

Ashore

Oyster farm ponds line the shore of the anse, with a cabane selling oysters directly by the water. The village of Larmor-Baden and its shops sit 2 km by road. Coastal path along the gulf shoreline for walks.
