Approach and anchoring

Enter the Golfe by the main pass between Port-Navalo and Locmariaquer, then head NE towards Larmor-Baden. The channel off Île Longue carries strong tidal streams reaching 4 knots on springs, strongest on the ebb, though there is little current at the anchorage itself. Stay clear of oyster beds marked by withies along the island's southern shore, and note that the beds off the north-east side are neither marked nor signposted, so the usable space is narrow. Old oyster tables lie on the bottom of the channel and can foul an anchor.

Practical

Anchor on sand north of the island in 3 to 6 m. Port Lagaden and Larmor-Baden both lie 0.7 NM NE for water, a slipway and shops. Dinghy ashore at Larmor-Baden pontoon.

Ashore

Île Longue is private and landing is not permitted. From Larmor-Baden take the coastal footpath towards Pen Lannic, 2 km of marked shoreline walking. Embarkation point for the Île aux Moines passenger ferry, 10 minutes' crossing from Port Blanc 1 NM north.
