Inland marina of 80 berths on the Rhine waterway network at Strasbourg, Alsace.
Guide
Approach and anchoring
Access via the Canal de la Marne au Rhin and the Bassin d'Austerlitz, linked to the Rhine through the lock system of the Grande Île waterways. The Écluse Sud and Écluse Nord onto the Rhine are manned and monitor VHF 11. Leaving to the north through the Écluse du Nord and its swing bridge is a slow business, so allow time. No tide. Low bridges along the approach require confirming air draught before entry.
Practical
Berths for up to 80 boats, many taken by permanent residents, but there is usually room for a visitor and berths are not bookable. Around 25 euros a night with water and electricity included. Fuel available at the port. There are no toilets, showers or laundry on site, and the wifi is poor. The basin is secure behind coded gates. A Carrefour Mini is about 10 minutes walk. For wintering, a bubble system keeps the water from freezing around the boats. Strasbourg city centre and tram network within walking distance.
Ashore
Grande Île of Strasbourg, UNESCO World Heritage site, within 1 km, with the Cathédrale Notre-Dame and the Petite France district, about a 30 minute walk. Parc de la Citadelle next to the port has a fitness circuit, and Parc de l'Orangerie lies 2 km north. Plaisance Club de Strasbourg 1.1 NM NE and Base Nautique Ruhlmann 1.4 NM SE for alternative mooring.
