Guide

Approach and anchoring

Canal navigation, operated by VNF. Lock 81 handled by the lockkeeper or by automated control. The mooring lies directly above the lock, before the canal bridge over the Ill. Maximum draught 1.6 m. Contact VNF for transit hours, which are reduced outside the summer season.

Practical

3 berths at the halt. No marina services on site. Yachtclub Straßbourg 6.1 NM to the NE and Marinest 7.2 NM north offer fuller facilities for refuelling and provisioning.

Ashore

Plobsheim village about 1 km from the lock, with a bakery and a small grocery. The halt sits on the edge of the forest, with a grassed area and benches ashore. The Plobsheim reservoir, a 670 ha lake on the Rhine, lies 2 km east and hosts a sailing club and birdwatching hides on the European migration route.
