Approach and anchoring

Anchorage and buoys exposed to the tramontana from the north, and choppy in an easterly or south-easterly. The bay opens to the south-east. Cap de Creus, the easternmost point of the Iberian peninsula, lies at the approach and is rounded before entering. The buoys are laid close together, so boats can touch when they swing in a calm; ask for one suited to the boat's size.

Practical

Buoys only, run by private operators and booked ahead; marineros meet boats and hand over the mooring lines, but there is no water or electricity. A free taxi-boat runs to the quay roughly 10:00 to 20:00; outside those hours use the dinghy, landing at the small dock below the church. Prices are high, from about 60 up to 100 euros for a 10 to 12 metre boat. From about October to May the buoys are lifted and anchoring is free.

Ashore

Salvador Dalí house museum at Portlligat, about 1 km north of the village. The Cap de Creus natural park headland with its footpaths sits close to the anchorage.
