Guide

Approach and anchoring

Moorings only, with no facilities ashore. Call on VHF 9 and the marineros guide boats to a buoy and hand over two independent lines to make fast to the cleats; the buoys are strong but set close together in places. There is shelter from the Tramontane, though a night can turn rolly as the wind comes and goes. Watch for tenders running fast through the field.

Practical

This is a buoy field only, and it is expensive, roughly 70 to 140 euros by length, about 95 euros for a 12-metre boat. Arrival is generally from 17:00, with a surcharge to take the buoy earlier in the day. A water taxi to the village is included until about 20:00 to 21:00 and charged per person after that. Payment by card or WhatsApp. There are no showers or toilets.

Ashore

Salvador Dali's house-museum at Portlligat lies about 1 km north of the village, a walk that must be booked online. Cap de Creus natural park surrounds the bay, with hiking from the shore. Tenders land at a dinghy dock, and restaurants line the harbour and the narrow streets.
