Approach and anchoring
Approach through the main pass of Toulon, then head southwest along the southern shore of the Petite Rade. The entrance is sheltered by the peninsula from the mistral. Maximum draught 2.5 m. VHF 9. Keep clear of the military zone on the south side of the peninsula.
Practical
790 berths across several pontoons, one of the larger marinas on the Var coast. Water and shore power, mooring assistance on arrival, but no fuel berth on site, so refuel at Toulon. Rates run high, around 73 to 85 euros a night in season, much less off-season. Sanitary facilities have been renovated. Port Pin Rolland, a major refit yard, lies 0.8 NM to the west, and Le Lazaret at 1.1 NM in the same direction.
Ashore
Village of Saint-Mandrier adjoins the harbour, with two supermarkets, a pharmacy and restaurants within walking distance, though it is quiet out of season. A boat-bus crosses to Toulon in about 20 minutes, roughly every half hour for around 2 euros, with a bus link too. Coastal path of the peninsula leads west to the Creux Saint-Georges beach at 1 km and the Cap Cépet lighthouse area. Naval cemetery of Saint-Mandrier on the heights, with graves of sailors from both world wars.
