Guide
Approach and anchoring
Marina boatmen move anchored boats on. In November 2025 they cited coast guard fines. A two-hour stop on a floating pontoon can be requested from the marina on VHF 9. In June 2022 this stop was free, with help at the pontoon. In August 2022 boats waited for space and lay on their own anchor with stern lines, not lazy lines.
Practical
In June 2025 only private buoys were laid. That month Marina Nuova charged 200 euros a night plus water and electricity for a 14 m boat. The main harbour quoted 2000 euros plus water and electricity for five nights in July 2025. In November 2025 a 40-foot catamaran was quoted 50 euros a night, and shops were closed. Rubbish disposal then cost 80 euros per cubic metre.
History
Porto Cervo was developed from 1962 by Prince Karim Aga Khan. The Yacht Club Costa Smeralda, founded in 1967, runs international regattas including the Maxi Yacht Rolex Cup.
