Approach and anchoring

Approach from the north between Le Palais and Pointe de Kerdonis. Sheltered from SE through S to W, exposed to N, NE and NW and to northerly swell, which sets it rolling. A no-anchoring zone has protected the seabed since March 2022 under AVINAV 047/22, marked by buoys that are not moorings and running from the Gros Rocher south along the 2 m line. Anchor outside it in 3 to 5 m on sand, clear of the lobster-pot markers along the shore.

Practical

No facilities on site. Nearest full services at Port du Palais, 1.8 nm NW, or Sauzon, 4.8 nm NW. Daytime anchorage only in settled weather.

Ashore

An old fort crowns the large rock above the cove, and three small beaches nearby are reachable by dinghy or canoe. Coastal path GR 340 runs along the clifftop and connects to Le Palais in about 3 km on foot. Nearest shops and restaurants are in Le Palais, the main town of Belle-Ile.
