River port of 25 berths on the Saône near Verdun-sur-le-Doubs, at the confluence of the Doubs and the Saône in Burgundy.
Guide
Approach and anchoring
Access from the Saône, tidal-free inland waterway. Maximum draught 1.7 m. Navigation governed by VNF rules on the Saône à Grand Gabarit. No night entry signalling, keep to marked channel on approach.
Practical
25 pontoon berths for river cruisers and small yachts, at a flat fee of around 20 euros with water and electricity included. Berths have a stern pontoon only and no finger pontoons, so a yacht lies uneasily by the stern alone. Toilet and shower are in the restaurant for a small charge. Mooring assistance is usually on hand. A supermarket and petrol station are about 20 minutes away, and Verdun-sur-le-Doubs village is within walking distance for shops and restaurants.
Ashore
Maison du Blé et du Pain museum in Verdun-sur-le-Doubs, about 500 m from the quay. Confluence walk between the Doubs and Saône rivers starts from the village.
