Guide
Approach and anchoring
Buoyed channel across the drying flats of the Bassin. Enter on a rising tide with at least half flood. Max draught 1.2 m alongside. The Leyre mouth silts up, check buoyage before entry.
Practical
190 berths, water and electricity on the pontoons. Visitor places on the outer pontoon. The launching slipway is muddy and cleats along the quay are sparse. Port de Biganos 0.8 NM to the E and Audenge 2.2 NM to the N for additional shelter.
Ashore
Parc ornithologique du Teich adjoins the port, a 110 hectare reserve on the Leyre delta with over 320 bird species recorded. Village centre with shops and SNCF station 1 km from the harbour.
