Approach and anchoring

Entry via the marked channel off the main Rhône navigation, downstream of the Bourg-lès-Valence lock. The entrance shoals with mud and is the limiting depth, listed at about 1.6 m, so keep to the middle and carry some speed to push through, the basin being deeper inside. The north side of the visitor pontoon H holds more water than the south. Strong current on the river outside the entrance, especially during spring snowmelt.

Practical

420 berths for vessels up to 25 m, around 22 to 27 euros a night. Booking by email, no VHF, and crews moor without assistance. Self-service diesel at the fuel berth by the entrance. Water, electricity, showers, new laundry machines and a haul-out crane. Chandlery and boatyard on site, though the shop is thinly stocked. A Géant Casino or Auchan supermarket lies a 10 to 15 minute walk away. Bus line 2 to Valence centre in about 15 minutes.

Ashore

Parc de l'Épervière, a 14-hectare leisure park, adjoins the port with cycling paths along the ViaRhôna route that runs from Lake Geneva to the Mediterranean. Valence old town and the Maison des Têtes, a Renaissance mansion of 1532, lie 3 km to the north.
