Approach and anchoring
Straight in from Marigot Bay, deep water and a wide entrance, no bridge to wait for. Yachts up to 260 feet, about 79 metres, and 12 feet draught, about 3.6 metres, according to the marina. Call on VHF 16 for a berth.
Practical
150 berths, multihulls accepted. Fuel bunkering, water, help with port clearance. Office open 8am to 6pm on weekdays, 8am to 5pm on Saturday and 8am to noon on Sunday, with shorter hours from mid-June to mid-November. Contact info@marinafortlouis.com.
Ashore
Fort Louis, built in 1789 to guard the town's warehouses, stands on the hill above the marina, about 15 minutes' climb, with a view over Marigot Bay and the lagoon. The waterfront market is busiest on Wednesday and Saturday mornings, when the fish is sold.
