Outer marina of 800 berths on the western bank of the Touques estuary, between Deauville and the sea.
Guide
Approach and anchoring
Approach the Touques estuary on a rising tide, the sand bar drying at low water. The narrow entrance channel on the western side is best taken within two hours either side of high water and turns tricky on big coefficients; boats have touched even at 1.4 m draught, so call the harbourmaster on VHF 9 and follow the marked track. Maximum draught 2 m on the pontoons, the outer sill drying part of the berths at big springs. The visitor pontoon is aged with a few loose cleats, so run long lines to the quayside bollards.
Practical
800 berths with water and electricity. Fuel berth with diesel. Sanitary blocks with showers, though the toilets sit well away from the visitor berths. Boatyard and 30-ton travel lift. Chandlery and sailmaker on the quayside. Shops of Deauville at 400 m, with this outer marina lying further from the town centre than the municipal Port de Deauville.
Ashore
Les Planches boardwalk and the sand beach of Deauville at 400 m. Casino Barriere at 500 m. Racecourse of La Touques at 1,2 km. Trouville fish market on the opposite bank at 700 m via the pont des Belges.
History
Port-Deauville was opened in 1975 as an extension of the original Bassin Morny, designed by architect Edouard Albert around residential marina apartments, one of the first marina village developments on the French coast.
