Approach and anchoring
Enter from the Pointe-à-Pitre approach channel; the Îlet à Cochon mooring field is 0.5 miles to the south-west. Maximum length about 50 metres and draught 4.5 metres. Harbour office on VHF 9. Les Saintes lie about 21 miles south and Saint-Louis on Marie-Galante about 20 miles south-east.
Practical
About 50 moorings on buoys besides the pontoon berths, and a new basin opened in November 2023. Fuel berth, boatyard with a 35 tonne travel lift, marine trades, restaurants, bakery and pharmacy around the basin. The harbour office is an approved customs clearance point. Office hours December to April: Monday to Saturday 8am to 1pm and 2pm to 5.30pm, Sunday 8am to noon. Phone +590 590 93 66 20, info@marinaguadeloupe.com.
Ashore
Pointe-à-Pitre and its markets are a short drive away, as is the international airport. The Mémorial ACTe, the Caribbean centre on the slave trade and slavery opened in 2015, stands on the Pointe-à-Pitre harbour front.
