Marina in Mill Basin, Brooklyn, set along the perimeter of the Kings Plaza shopping centre car park, on the edge of Jamaica Bay.

Approach and anchoring

Entered from Jamaica Bay through the Mill Basin channel, off the Belt Parkway near Exit 11N. The basin runs alongside the Kings Plaza garage.

Practical

Over 150 berths, many fitted with Hydrohoist out-of-water lifts. There is a repair shop and winter storage. The shopping centre alongside has supermarkets, shops and dining within walking distance.

History

The marina was built so shoppers could reach Kings Plaza by boat. The site previously held the Brooklyn Skyport seaplane base, in use through the mid-20th century near Avenue U and Flatbush Avenue.
