Buoy mooring field of about 380 moorings on the south side of the Rhuys peninsula, in the bay of Kerners between Arzon and Sarzeau, inside the Gulf of Morbihan, run by the port of Arzon.

Approach and anchoring

Approach from inside the Gulf through the channel north of Île Bailleron and south of Île de Berder. Strong tidal streams in the Gulf, plan arrival around slack water. Shallow bay, follow the marked channel in. The moorings are well sheltered from westerly winds with little current on the buoys. Anchoring is awkward, so book a buoy through the port of Arzon; staff allocate it and run two dinghies to ferry crews out. It can get busy at high water when the Île aux Moines shuttle calls. VHF 9.

Practical

Moorings for boats up to about 14 m, around 17 euros a night for an 11 m boat in July. Water and sanitary facilities ashore, with a small bar above the slipway. No fuel on site; nearest fuel at Port du Crouesty, 1.3 NM south-west. A free Arzibus shuttle runs to Arzon in season, roughly every 30 minutes, for shops; the village is 2 km by road.

Ashore

Coastal path along the north shore of the Rhuys peninsula, linking Kerners to Le Logeo in about 3 km east. Oyster beds of the Gulf visible at low water. Beach of Kerners, sand and shingle, immediately east of the port.
