Anchorage at the mouth of the Liscia river in Gallura, north-east Sardinia. Sand bottom, off a long beach popular with windsurfers. Sheltered from west through south-east.

Approach and anchoring

Large sand patches lie inshore in about 3 to 5 m. Further out the bottom drops from about 4 m to 12 or 13 m, with weed and darker mud. Buoyed kitesurf zones close part of the bay to anchoring, including one to the west. The sand held in 30 kn from the NW in 2024. A residual north swell can roll boats when the wind goes west.

Practical

Dinghies land on the beach near the kite spot. In September 2025 a dinghy left there after dark was dragged back into the water. Signs forbid leaving rubbish on the shore. Music from bars and discos carries late on summer nights.

Ashore

Windsurf shops and bars by the beach stayed open until the end of October in 2023. Casa Bear serves food in the evening. In 2024 a van with a fridge replaced the beach bar at the surf spot.
