Approach and anchoring

Enter the bay from the south, between Pointe de Penvins and Pointe de Saint-Jacques. The approach channel is unmarked apart from wooden stakes, some of which lie awash depending on the tidal range, so feel the way in with care. Bottom is mud with good holding. The anchorage is sheltered from north-west through to south but fully open to the south-east, and it dries on the edges at low-water springs.

Practical

No services at the anchorage. Nearest shelters are Anse d'Ibenn, 1.3 nm to the east, and the small harbour of Penvins, 1.5 nm to the south-west. Port du Crouesty and Port Haliguen on the Quiberon peninsula are the closest fully equipped marinas.

Ashore

The GR 34 coastal path runs along the shore of the Rhuys peninsula and passes above the bay. The small chapel of Notre-Dame-de-la-Cote stands on the Pointe de Penvins, around 1.5 nm to the south-west.
