Approach and anchoring
River access on the Rhône between the Jons and Cusset dams. Watch for strong current after hydroelectric discharge and for the rocky bed on the banks. Sheltered from northerlies by the wooded shoreline.
Practical
Rock bottom, limited holding, take mooring lines to shore. Berths go by annual club membership at around 45 euros a year, with the gate key handed over in March. No fuel or water on site. Nearest equipped bases are Meyzieu Grand Large 4.5 NM west and Cercle Yachting Voile Grand Large 5.1 NM southwest on the Grand Large lake.
Ashore
Parc de Miribel-Jonage, a 2,200-hectare regional park, lies just across the river with cycle paths along the Via Rhôna. Village of Niévroz within walking distance for a bakery and a small grocer.
