New Jersey shore: Barnegat Bay, Atlantic City and Cape May

From the head of the Navesink to Cape May, inside or outside. The New Jersey ICW runs 118 statute miles from Manasquan Inlet to the Cape May Canal: the Point Pleasant Canal and its strong current, then Barnegat Bay, six feet deep on average, with a shallow anchorage on Tices Shoal behind Island Beach. South of Atlantic City, 35 foot fixed bridges and shoals down to three feet send sailboats offshore through Absecon Inlet. Take Barnegat Inlet in settled weather only. Cape May, an all-weather inlet, closes the coast.
