Frioul and Riou: the islands of Marseille
14 places · Marseille and the Calanques
Two miles off the Vieux-Port, the Frioul archipelago: the harbour between Pomègues and Ratonneau, the inlets of Morgiret and Grand Soufre, the Château d'If on the way. To the south, Riou, Jarre, Plane and Maïre form a string of deserted islands inside the national park, with Monasterio and Fontagne as fair-weather anchorages. The mistral gives no notice: Frioul holds, Riou does not.
