Approach and anchoring
Enters an enclosed basin off the Cape Fear River. The basin has no current or wake, and it is regarded as one of the better storm and surge refuges on the Carolina coast.
Practical
235 protected berths for transient and long-term boats. A 75-ton travel lift and a full-service yard handle haul-out, engine work for diesel, petrol and outboards, plus fuel. First marina in southeast North Carolina to gain NC Clean Marina status.
Ashore
Historic downtown Wilmington is about a 10-minute drive north. There are no shops within walking distance of the basin itself.
